Avocados

I've long had success growing trees from avocado seeds and often give the trees (some 4 feet plus tall) as housewarming gifts. I read or saw on TV somewhere than you basic Hass avocado, the one most often seen in stores won't make fruit if grown from seed... They have to be grafted. I know it sounds weird but hey! The fruit won't ripen until it's picked. That's rather abnormal to me. Anyway, avocados are supposed to be "good fat "especially for us w/ digestive issues and next week I see they'll be on sale for 88 cents each. Well, well, well... I saw on some cooking show a fella was using avocado leaves to add a certain special taste to a slow roasted pork. That's right! I'll be growing avocado trees (in pots) and give it a taste test.
