I was waiting for a call from the store to tell me when my new washer could be delivered. The call came saying they were on their way! I bare;y had time to clear a path through the living room when they arrived. In about 30 minutes everything was hooked up and ready to rock & roll.
I don't know what stores do with old appliances but I just asked the guys to leave my old machine at the curb. I had a road trip Saturday and when I returned someone had picked it up to either repair or recycle... Hell, maybe their machine was worse than mine and they were upgrading!
My new is much quieter than the old. So much so I barely even notice when it's running. Hopefully it'll perform much better as well. The main thing now is I don't have to open and reclose the door to make it go into spin cycle.
I got well over 10 years' service out of my old machine. Not bad at all for one I picked up free off the curb and already had some years on it.
