After a few weeks of daytime highs in or near the 80 F mark, we've suddenly been dumped upon with lows near freezing. As we say in Mississippi, "If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes. It'll change!"
That said, by the end of the week we should be nearing 70 again.
I get a catalog from a tool supply house near here every so often. The latest catalog had coupons for 6' x 8' greenhouses for $199.99 each. Well, I went to their website and found some 6' 3" x 6' for $99.99 each and ordered a pair of them. Delivery added some $30.00 for the two but it's worth it for me not to have to load, haul and unload the suckers.
Weather permitting I'll be able to set the ground level (more or less) with landscape timbers before delivery.
I'm still waiting for enough dry weather of my truckload of sand to be delivered. It'll run $175.00 and I'll use that to fill in holes, level the greenhouse site, et cetera. I've talked to the lady at the dirt company's office and when I get the sand distributed as needed I'll get a truckload ($150.00 worth) of "brown dirt" hauled in.
I'm expanding 2 of my 6' x 6' raised bed gardens to 6' x 12' so with those expansions plus my 2 greenhouses I should be able to really start getting some things going here.
