Valentine's Day 2018

     Today is Saint Valentine's Day and I do not have a valentine. Not complaining, just stating the facts. Let's face it. With a foot plus long gray beard there are probably a dozen women in America, most of them in jail who would look at me and say, "Yeah, I'll take a chance on that". But I'm happy enough living without a significant other.
     The main thing February 14 means to me is the day I bought "Sexy Red" , my 2014 Honda CR-V.  In the 4 years I've had her, I've put a mere 16,000 miles plus a few on her. Seems I really don't go much of anywhere except to work and back. At the rate I'm going it'll take another 21 years for me to reach 100,000 miles!

     Meanwhile, we're on a high swing in the local temperature even though we're getting very little Sunshine. and can expect little for at least the next week. For the time being I'll take warm & cloudy over ass biting cold and Sunny.

     I've been digging through my seed stash to see what all I want to plant come Spring. I'll for sure have plenty of okra. I'd love to put up a few jars of home made salsa so I'll need peppers and tomatoes. My mater crops have thus far been "hit or miss" growing from seeds and seedlings so I may actually buy some larger plants along with starting seeds earlier in the year this time around.
     My greens growing efforts thus far would discourage a lesser redneck but I'll keep trying a wee adjustment yearly until I hit the magic combination. I'll still have to buy my ham hocks but someday I'll grow my own collard greens!

     I'm looking for grand results from my cataract surgery so I may get in a bit of squirrel hunting when they're back in season. With God's blessings, I may even visit a local lake or 2 for a bit of frogging.

     There are just so many "if" factors at present. I'll just keep my faith in God and trust in Him. Keep me in your prayers if you have them and I'll do the same for you.
